-Cummings Urges ANC Partisans Ahead of 2023 Elections
The political leader of the opposition Alternative National Congress (ANC) has urged partisans of the party to be innovative ahead of the much anticipated 2023 presidential and legislative elections in the country.
Speaking over the weekend at the close of the 2nd extraordinary convention of the ANC at its headquarters in Monrovia, Mr. Alexander Benedict Cummings urged the partisans to be more innovative if they are to take state power from the governing Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) in 2023.
Cummings lamented that Liberia deserves better than what is obtaining under the CDC-led government headed by President George Manneh Weah.
“Be innovative and hardworking for change in 2023 because Liberia deserves better and the citizens deserve better,” he said.
Partisans of the ANC gathered in their numbers as delegates over the weekend to attend the 2nd extraordinary convention of the party. The convention was basically to review the party’s constitution and make amendments where necessary as they prepare for the next presidential elections in 2023.
They also planned how to move in all parts of the country in reaching out to all irrespective of locations, political affiliation, tribes among others telling the people that Liberia deserves better.
Also speaking at the opening of the gathering, the Chairman of the party, Lafayette E. O. Gould reminded partisans that the ANC remains a very disciplined political institution in Liberia and as such; it is prudent to maintain such integrity by upholding the tenet of democracy, which is the respect for the party’s constitution and laws of the state.
Chairman Gould said Liberia must be featured first and always in all of what they do as a party.
