Nimba Grassroots Movement Embarks On Fund Raising

By T. Saye Goinleh

The local organization based in Nimba County known as the Nimba Grassroots Movement for Unity has announced plans to stage a fund-raising program in Sanniquellie to help underwrite the tuition of over two hundred and seventy students across the county.

According the chairman of the group, Anthony Weegon, the decision for the exercise was derived at the July 29, 2018 meeting held in Sanniquellie where the idea was born to launch a financial aid program for Nimba students especially those from the elementary to the high school levels which he indicated will target thirty pupils from each district of the county.

Weegon said his organization has earmarked an estimated amount of thirteen thousand five hundred United States dollars to be generated for the needy and deserving students and the ceremony will take place on the last Friday of September, 2018 at the Sanniquellie City Hall.

Meanwhile, the Nimba Grassroots Movement for Unity is at the same time calling on all officials of government hailing from the region who were served invitations to turn out in mass to make their financial contributions to help alleviate some of the many challenges faced by parents and the educational system in the County.

“Education is light and power for your children’s future, so please support the process,’’ Weegon appealed to stakeholders invited for the platform.
