Pastor, Zoes In Tussle

-As Pastor Threatens To Force Devil Out Of ‘Bush School’

By Esau J. Farr

In what is expected to be a test of strengths between a preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and a Poro-Master in Nimba, the local leadership of Nimba has been put on fire to probe the alleged forceful initiation of a member of the Inland Church in that part of the country.

Report coming from the mountainous county has it that Joseph Saye, 41 years old a member of the Inland Church branch in Saclepeamah District, Nimba County was on Sunday allegedly forced into initiation of the Poro Society commonly refereed to as ‘Bush School’ in Liberia by followers of the Poro-Master in Kpeikpoah Town, Nimba County.

It is alleged that the man in question was found in the wrong area at the wrong time and taken away by followers of the ‘Devil’ as it is commonly called, but the Spokesperson of the ‘Devil’ has ever since denied the allegation saying, the man was not forcefully initiated as he is of age to make decision for himself.

James N. Yeanay said his bush school is an organized one licensed by the Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Internal Affairs to operate in Liberia and that he has no reason to force anyone to ‘enroll’ into his school adding that he is a law-abiding citizen.

He added that Joseph the initiate discussed the issue of his initiation with his family before taking the decision and sees no reason why people will insinuate that he (James) is bent on forcing people to enter the society bush.

Following the announcement of the reported initiation of the child of God (Joseph Saye), his Pastor, Anthony Zonduo threatened to forcibly enter the ‘Bush School’ and take away his member from the Poro-Society bush something that is impossible according to tradition, but the Inland Church Pastor said he wants to be the first man to defile the zoes and set new record as the first man to have ever done so in that part of Liberia.

While in an angry mood, the Inland Pastor was intercepted by community people and other chiefs to hold his peace as an intervention was being made to resolve the matter.

Latest report coming from the area says that the County Inspector of Nimba is today, Wednesday, August 15, 2018 on his way to the area to settle the matter between the aggrieved pastor and zoes of the area.

It is not known what solution or conclusion the discussion will bring as the initiate is not a juvenile (under age) and that he is currently in the custody of the zoes where he can’t be given the opportunity to say his side of the story; besides, it is clear in the Holy Bible that ‘Light and Darkness’ have nothing in common.

However, the man of God has threatened to do all he can to get his member out of the bush school as the only solution to the alleged forceful initiation of his church member since it is written in the Holy Scripture “The Gospel of John the Baptist Suffered violence and violence shall take it by force”.
