A group under the banner, Professionals United to Promote the Pro-Poor Agenda (PUPA) has applauded President George Weah for launching 200metric tons of rice for the Liberian People.
PUPA at a news conference Wednesday said the launch of a 200 metric tons of rice by the Weah administration on the Liberian market is a timely intervention by the government aimed at addressing the dietetic needs of the Liberian people.
According to PUPA, the launch of the Pro-Poor rice by President Weah demonstrates the CDC government support in ending hunger from Liberia thereby achieving food security in the country.
PUPA said the drive is gear in tackling pillar two of the Sustainable Development Goals so as to achieve food security and improve food nutrition.
“PUPA appreciates the government for signing an agreement with the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development for coastal road project,” the group said.
PUPA believes the aid is an indication that ECOWAS has realized President Weah’s plan to transform Liberia.
